CNCR Coaching Clinic: Raising the Standard
September 25, 2026 | Kin Centre Arenas, Prince George
The CNC Region, in partnership with the Section, is excited to offer a special coaching clinic focused on Star 6 to Gold Skills and Dance passing standards.
A concern has been identified across our region regarding the number of skaters who are not yet meeting the passing standards during virtual assessment sessions. To help address this, the Section has organized an incredible opportunity for our coaches to learn directly from Morgan Wentworth of the Whistler Skating Club, alongside Judge Joanne Nickel, who many of you will recognize from our virtual assessment days.
Morgan has been selected to lead this clinic because of her strong success rate with skaters achieving passing standards and her extensive knowledge and experience in this area. Together, Morgan and Joanne will provide valuable insight into what judges are looking for and, most importantly, how coaches can help their skaters meet the required standards.
Club support for this clinic is strongly encouraged. We would love to see coaches from every club in the region attend, including all coaches currently in training and certified coaches. At minimum, we strongly recommend that each club have at least one coach represented.
Coaches will be divided into two groups for the clinic. The schedule will be posted here, and following registration, each coach will be assigned to a group.
Registration is expected to open by Sunday.
This is a fantastic opportunity, made possible through the support of the Section and CNC Region, to give our coaches the tools and knowledge they need to help bring our regional standards up to a consistent passing level. We are incredibly excited to bring Morgan and Joanne to Prince George and hope to see coaches from every club take advantage of this opportunity!
